Jacob started his career with the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation in 2021, with the Nevada Chapter. Jacob brings over 20 years of experience in non-profit leadership, volunteer management, outreach, youth programming, and education. Jacob holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Fort Lewis College, an M.Ed. in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Arkansas, and an M.S. in Political Science from the University of Nebraska, Omaha (Go Mavs!). In his free time, Jacob likes to spend time with his family, hike, read, maintain a vegetable garden, and see live music across the country.

Makenna joined the Nebraska Chapter of the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation in 2024, bringing with her both professional dedication and lived experience. As the spouse and mother of individuals with a bleeding disorder, she understands firsthand the challenges families face and the impact that meaningful support and education can have. Makenna is deeply passionate about advocating for the bleeding disorders community and ensuring that every individual and family feels welcomed, supported, and empowered—just as she did when she first found the community. Providing relevant, accessible education and helping others navigate their journey is at the heart of her work. Outside of work, Makenna enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, reading, and rewatching episodes of The Office.
